PUPPY RAISING METHODS
HOW WE RAISE OUR PUPPIES / WHAT SETS US APART
At Remington Kennels LLC, ethical breeding isn't just a philosophy; it's the cornerstone of everything we do. Our commitment to the well-being of our puppies is unwavering. From the moment they enter this world, they're treated with the utmost love and care. We believe in setting the highest standards for their early development. We take pride in ensuring that each puppy is not just a pet, but a cherished member of the family. We prioritize their health with timely vaccinations and provide the added security of microchipping.

What truly sets us apart is our commitment to education and empowerment. We understand that bringing a new puppy home is a big responsibility, which is why we now include basic obedience training before they leave our care. This ensures a smooth transition for both you and your new companion, setting the stage for a lifelong bond built on trust and understanding.

We invite you to experience the Remington Kennels difference firsthand. When you choose one of our puppies, you're not just getting a pet; you're becoming part of our extended family, sharing in our dedication to ethical breeding and responsible pet ownership.
Early Neurological Stimulation
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), pioneered by Dr. Carmen Battaglia, involves gentle tactile, thermal stimulation, and exposure to mild stressors during a puppy's early development. These activities enhance neurological function, improve stress tolerance, and foster resilience in puppies, ensuring they grow into confident, well-adjusted dogs.
Crate & Potty Training
From their very first days, we dedicate ourselves to the crucial tasks of potty training and crate introduction. Through consistent guidance and gentle encouragement, we instill lifelong habits and create a sense of security for our puppies. These foundational practices not only prepare them for life beyond our program but also contribute to their overall well-being and confidence. As they grow and learn in our care, our puppies develop the skills and resilience needed for a smooth transition to their forever homes.
Temperament Testing
Early Scent Introduction
Early Scent Introduction (ESI) familiarizes puppies with scents during days 3-16 of life, boosting nose awareness and confidence. Like Early Neurological Stimulation, ESI benefits a puppy's development by enhancing scent recognition and response abilities, laying a strong foundation for their future as confident, well-rounded dogs.
Exposure & Socialization
Socializing puppies is crucial for their development, and research now suggests it should start as early as the third week of life. At Remington Kennels, we take this seriously by exposing our puppies to various stimuli throughout their stay. From different sights and sounds to problem-solving activities, we ensure they're well-prepared for life's adventures. Our proactive approach sets the stage for confident, adaptable dogs, enhancing their bond with future families.
The Volhard Puppy Temperament Test evaluates puppies' personality and behavior using simple exercises. It helps assess their social skills, confidence, independence, and reactions to different situations. By observing how a puppy interacts with people, objects, and other animals, the test reveals insights into their personality and suitability for various environments.

Considering a puppy's temperament is crucial when choosing one because it ensures a good match with the family's lifestyle and expectations. A puppy's temperament influences how they interact with people, pets, and their surroundings. For instance, a calm and sociable puppy might suit a laid-back family, while a more active and curious puppy might be better for an adventurous household.

Understanding a puppy's temperament is essential for a smooth transition into their new home. It helps prospective owners find a puppy that fits their needs and preferences, leading to a happy and fulfilling lifelong companionship.
